GCS: Romania’s COVID-19 case count rises by 250 to 29,223

Another 250 cases of infection with the novel coronavirus have been reported since the last information from the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, bringing the total case count to 29,223.

At the moment, 227 COVID-19 patients are in intensive care.

Of the people confirmed positive, 21,413 were discharged. Of these, 20,213 are cured patients and 1,200 asymptomatic patients were discharged 10 days after detection.

To date, 771,482 tests have been processed nationwide, according to GCS.

 

Another 18 deaths in people infected with novel coronavirus takes toll to 1,768

 

The Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced that, in the last 24 hours, 18 people died in Romania due to the novel coronavirus.

Until Monday, 1,768 people diagnosed with COVID-19 infection died.

“Between 05.07.2020 (10:00) – 06.07.2020 (10:00), 18 deaths (10 men and 8 women) were registered, of some patients infected with the novel coronavirus, hospitalized in Arges, Bacau, Botosani, Brasov, Dambovita, Galati, Bucharest, Mures, Olt, Prahova and Timis,” states GCS.

According to the quoted source, of these deaths, one was registered in the age category 40-49 years, six deaths in the age category 50-59 years, five deaths in the age category 60-69 years, three deaths in the age category 70 -79 years and three deaths in people over 80 years.

No comorbidities were reported for one of the deaths, according to GCS.

 

4,090 cases in Suceava County; 3,411 in Bucharest; over 1,000 in six more counties

 

Most of the cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania have been reported so far in Suceava County – 4,090, in Bucharest City – 3,411, while in six other counties – Arges, Brasov, Botosani, Galati, Iasi and Vrancea – the count exceeds 1,000.

According to the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, Romania’s total COVID-19 count case was 29,223 as of Monday at noon.

872 sanctions in last 24 hours for violating measures to combat COVID-19 pandemic

 

The police and gendarmes have levied, in the last 24 hours, 872 sanctions, amounting to 193,501 lei, as a result of violating the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, informs the Strategic Communication Group (GCS).

GCS states that in the last 24 hours, 306 calls were registered to the emergency number 112.

In this context, GCS reminds citizens to consider only the information verified by official sources and to call for recommendations and other information on the TELVERDE line – 0800.800.358. The TELVERDE number is not an emergency number, it is a telephone line strictly assigned for informing citizens and it is valid for national calls, from Monday to Friday, between 8.00 and 20.00.

Also, Romanians abroad can request information on preventing and combating the virus at the line specially dedicated to them: +4021.320.20.20.

Until July 5, as many as 1,549,904 cases have been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, France and Germany.
