GCS: Romania’s COVID-19 case count rises by 592 to 31.381; death toll reaches 1847

Another 592 cases of infection with the novel coronavirus have been reported in Romania since the last information by the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, bringing the total case count to 31,381.

Currently, 236 COVID-19 patients are in intensive care.

Of the people confirmed positive, 22,812 were discharged. Of these, 21,129 are cured patients and 1,683 asymptomatic discharged 10 days after detection.

 

Death toll rises by 13 to 1,847

 

The Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, announced on Thursday that in the last 24 hours 13 people infected with the novel coronavirus died in Romania.

As of Friday, the total death toll was standing at 1,847.

“Between 09.07.2020 (10:00hrs) – 10.07.2020 (10:00hrs), 13 deaths (8 men and 5 women) were reported of patients infected with the novel coronavirus, hospitalised in Arges, Bistrita-Nasaud, Brasov, Dambovita, Dolj, Ialomita, Bucharest and Tulcea,” GCS specified.

Of these, one death was recorded in the age class 30 – 39 years, one in the age class 50 – 59 years, four in the age class 60 – 69 years, six in the age class 70 – 79 years and one in over 80 years.

According to the GCS, all these deaths were in patients with comorbidities.

 

COVID-19 count breakdown: 4,141 in Suceava County; 3,659 in Bucharest; over 1,000 in six more counties

 

Most of the cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in Romania have been reported so far in Suceava County – 4,141, in Bucharest – 3,659, while in six other counties the count exceeds 1,000.

According to the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, Romania’s COVID-19 count case reached 31,381.

1,242 COVID-19 fines issued in last 24 hours

 

In the last 24 hours, law enforcement officers issued 1,242 fines amounting to 202,541 lei for violations of Law no. 55/2020 on measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, reported on Friday.

According to GCS, in the last 24 hours, 475 calls were reported to the 112 emergency line and 1,187 to the 0800 800 358 toll-free novel coronavirus information line.

GCS reminds the public to consider only information verified by official sources and to call 0800.800.358 for recommendations and other information, Monday to Friday, between 08:00hrs and 20:00hrs.

Romanians abroad can request information on preventing and combating the virus by calling the +4021.320.20.20 special line.

As of July 9, 1,567,717 cases had been reported in the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland, Andorra. Most cases have been reported in the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, France and Germany.

 

COVID-19 count case of Romanians abroad reaches 5,105

 

The Strategic Communication Group(GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, reported on Friday that 5,105 Romanians abroad had been confirmed infected with the novel coronavirus, with a death toll constant at 122.

Of the 5,105 Romanian citizens confirmed as infected 1,885 are in Italy, 561 in Spain, 115 in France, 2,275 in Germany, 97 in the United Kingdom, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 3 in the USA, 105 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 3 in Greece and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, India, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and Sweden.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic, 122 Romanian citizens abroad have died – 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 9 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the US and one in Brazil.

According to GCS, of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the novel coronavirus, 72 were declared cured: 50 in Germany, 10 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

“The data are obtained by the Romanian diplomatic missions and consular offices abroad, either from the relevant authorities in the states of residence, insofar as these data are subject to public communication, or directly from Romanian citizens abroad,” according to GCS.
