GCS announces 637 new infections with coronavirus in Romania, total number reaches 33,585 cases

Another 637 cases of infection with the novel coronavirus were reported since the last informative bulletin sent by the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the total number of cases reaching 33,585 on Monday.

There are currently 234 patients admitted in the ICU units.

Of the persons confirmed positive, 23,798 were discharged. Of them, 21,803 are cured patients, while 1,995 – asymptomatic carriers discharged 10 days after being confirmed positive. At the same time, up to now, 658 patients that have tested positive were discharged upon their request.

To date, at the national level, 868,478 tests were processed, the GCS shows.

 

Romania’s COVID-19 death toll rises by 30 to 1,931

 

The Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced that 30 people infected with the novel coronavirus have died in Romania in the last 24 hours.

By Tuesday, 1,931 people diagnosed with COVID-19 had died.

“Between 13.07.2020 (10.00) – 14.07.2020 (10.00) there were 30 deaths (13 men and 17 women) of patients infected with the novel coronavirus, admitted in hospitals in Arges, Bacau, Bistrita-Nasaud, Braila, Brasov, Covasna, Dambovita, Galati, Ialomita, Maramures, Olt, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Timia and Valcea counties, and in Bucharest,” the GCS release reads.

Of these, one death was registered in the 40-49 age group ; 3 deaths in the 50-59 age category; 11 – in the 60-69 age category ; 10 deaths in the 70-79 age category and 5 – in people over 80 years of age.

According to the same source, all deaths are of patients who have shown comorbidities.

 

Coronavirus case count: Suceava County – 4,188, Bucharest City – 3,918, three counties past 1,000-line

 

Romania’s areas with the highest coronavirus caseloads are northeastern Suceava County – with 4,188 cases, Bucharest City – 3,918, and seven other counties – Arges, Brasov, Botosani, Galati, Vrancea, Neamt and Iasi – with more than 1,000 illnesses each.

Romania has a total of 33,585 people confirmed as infected with the novel coronavirus, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informs.

Coronavirus count case of Romanians abroad reaches 5,108

 

The Strategic Communication Group(GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, reported on Tuesday that 5,108 Romanians abroad had been confirmed infected with the novel coronavirus, with a death toll constant at 122.

Of the 5,108 Romanian citizens confirmed as infected 1,885 are in Italy, 561 in Spain, 115 in France, 2,275 in Germany, 97 in the United Kingdom, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 105 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 5 in Greece and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, India, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and Sweden.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic, 122 Romanian citizens abroad have died – 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 9 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the US and one in Brazil.

According to GCS, of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the novel coronavirus, 157 were declared cured: 135 in Germany, 10 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
