GCS: 641 new cases of coronavirus infections in Romania, total cases count reaches 34.226

Another 641 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been recorded in Romania since the last report, bringing the total case count to 34,226 on Wednesday, announced the Strategic Communication Group (GCS).

As many as 248 COVID-19 patients are in intensive care.

Of the people confirmed positive, 24,155 were discharged from hospital; of these, 22,049 were declared cured and 2,106 were symptomless people who were discharged 10 days after being found positive for the virus.

Also, 727 COVID-positives were discharged on request.

To date, 886,918 tests have been processed nationwide, GCS said.

 

Another 21 deaths of persons infected with novel coronavirus take total to 1,952

 

The Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced that 21 persons infected with the novel coronavirus died in Romania in the past 24 hours.

Until Wednesday, 1,952 persons diagnosed with COVID-19 infection have died.

“In the 14.07.2020 (10:00) – 15.07.2020 (10:00) interval 21 deaths (15 men and 6 women) were recorded among patients infected with the novel coronavirus, admitted to the hospitals in Arges, Bacau, Braila, Brasov, Calarasi, Dambovita, Ialomita, Mehedinti, Bucharest, Prahova, Salaj, Suceava, Teleorman and Timis,” the GCS informs.

Of them, one death was recorded in the 20-29 years old category, one death in the 40-49 years old category, 2 deaths in the 50-59 years old category, 5 deaths in the 60-69 years old category, 11 deaths in the 70-79 years old category and 2 deaths in the over 80 years old category.

According to the quoted source, all the deceased patients had comorbidities.

 

Coronavirus count case of Romanians abroad reaches 5,136

 

The Strategic Communication Group(GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, reported on Wednesday that 5,136 Romanians abroad had been confirmed infected with the novel coronavirus, with a death toll constant at 122.

Of the 5,136 Romanian citizens confirmed as infected 1,885 are in Italy, 561 in Spain, 115 in France, 2,275 in Germany, 125 in the United Kingdom, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 105 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 5 in Greece and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, India, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and Sweden.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic, 122 Romanian citizens abroad have died – 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 9 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the US and one in Brazil.

According to GCS, of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the novel coronavirus, 157 were declared cured: 135 in Germany, 10 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.

 

1,298 fines, in past 24 hours, for infringing measures to combat COVID-19 pandemic

 

Police officers and gendarmes applied, in the past 24 hours, 1,298 fines, worth 335,610 RON, following infringement of provisions of Law No. 55/2020 regarding some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, on Tuesday informs the Strategic Communication Group (GCS).

According to the source, in the last 24 hours, 490 calls to single emergency line 112 and 1,109 to the green line (0800 800 358), opened specially for informing citizens, were made.

 

Coronavirus case count: Suceava County – 4,200, Bucharest City – 3,985, Brasov County – 2,130

 

Romania’s areas with the highest coronavirus caseloads are northeastern Suceava County – with 4,200 cases, Bucharest City – 3,985, Brasov County with 2,130 and seven other counties – Arges, Botosani, Dambovita, Galati, Vrancea, Neamt and Iasi – with more than 1,000 illnesses each.

Romania has a total of 34,226 people confirmed as infected with the novel coronavirus, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informs.
