GCS: 777 new cases of coronavirus infections reported in Romania, total case count reaches 35.003

Another 777 cases of infection with the novel coronavirus have been reported in Romania since the last information by the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, bringing the total case count on Thursday to 35,003.

Currently, 261 COVID-19 patients are in intensive care.

Of the people confirmed positive, 24,335 were discharged. Of these, 22,189 are cured patients and 2,146 asymptomatic discharged 10 days after detection.

At the same time, so far, as many as 757 patients having tested positive were discharged upon request.

To date, 906,015 tests have been processed nationwide, according to GCS.

 

Another 19 deaths in novel coronavirus infected persons take the death toll to 1,971

 

The Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced that 19 persons infected with the novel coronavirus died in Romania in the past 24 hours.

Until Thursday, 1,971 persons diagnosed with COVID-19 have died.

“In the 15.07.2020 (10:00) – 16.07.2020 (10:00) interval 19 deaths (14 men and 5 women) were recorded among patients infected with the novel coronavirus, admitted to the hospitals in Arges, Botosani, Bistrita-Nasaud, Brasov, Constanta, Galati, Harghita, Mehedinti, Neamt, Prahova, Suceava, Timis and Valcea counties, and Bucharest City,” the GCS informs.

Of them, two deaths were recorded in the 40-49 years old category, 2 deaths in the 50-59 years old category, 6 deaths in the 60-69 years old category, 3 deaths in the 70-79 years old category and 6 deaths in the over 80 years old category.

According to the source, 18 of the deceased patients had comorbidities, one had no comorbidities reported.

Romania’s areas with the highest coronavirus caseloads are Suceava County – with 4,218 cases, Bucharest City – 4,096, Brasov County – 2,184 and the counties of Arges, Botosani, Dambovita, Galati, Vrancea, Iasi and Neamt – with more than 1,000 illnesses each.

Romania has a total of 35,003 people confirmed as infected with the novel coronavirus, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informs.

5,146 Romanians abroad – confirmed as infected with novel coronavirus

 

The Strategic Communication Group (GCS) says on Thursday that 5,146 Romanians abroad were confirmed as infected with the novel coronavirus, and the number of deaths of Romanian citizens abroad, due to COVID-19, remains 122.

Of the 5,146 citizens confirmed as infected, 1,885 are in Italy, 561 in Spain, 115 in France, 2,280 in Germany, 125 in the United Kingdom, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 107 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 8 in Greece and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, the United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, India, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Sweden.

Since the beginning of the pandemic and up to now, 122 Romanian citizens abroad have died: 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in the United Kingdom, 9 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the USA and one in Brazil.

Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the novel coronavirus, 157 were declared cured: 135 in Germany, 10 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia, the GCS shows.
