GCS: 799 new cases of COVID-19 registered in Romania, total case count reaches 35,802

Another 799 infections with the novel coronavirus were reported since the last informative bulletin sent by the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the total number of cases reaching Friday 35,802.

In the ICU, at this time, there are 273 patients admitted.

Of the persons confirmed positive, 24,598 were discharged, of them, 22,312 are cured patients, and 2,286 – asymptomatic patients discharged 10 days after detection.

At the same time, up to now, 823 patients who’ve tested positive were discharged on demand.

Until this moment, at the national level, 925,001 tests were processed, the GCS shows.

 

Another 17 deaths of persons infected with novel coronavirus take death toll to 1,988

 

The Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced that 17 people infected with the novel coronavirus have died in the last 24 hours in Romania, thus taking the death toll countrywide to 1,988 people.

“From 16.07.2020 (10.00) to 17.07.2020 (10.00) there were 17 deaths (11 men and 6 women) of patients infected with the novel coronavirus, in hospitals in Arges, Botosani, Buzau, Galati, Mures, Olt, Prahova, Sibiu, Vrancea, Ilfov counties to which Bucharest City adds,” the GCS release says.

Of these, 5 deaths were recorded in the age category 50-59 years, 7 – in the age category 60-69 years and 5 deaths in the age category 70-79 years.

The GCS shows that 16 deaths are of patients who have had comorbidities. No comorbidities were reported for one death.

 

4,233 persons infected with novel coronavirus in Suceava, 4,172 in Bucharest, 2,229 in Brasov

 

Most cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been recorded, so far, in northeastern Suceava County – 4,233, in Bucharest City – 4,172, in Brasov County – 2,229, and in other seven counties – Arges, Botosani, Dambovita, Galati, Vrancea, Neamt and Iasi, where there are over 1,000 sick people each.

According to the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), 35,802 people were infected so far with the novel coronavirus on the Romanian territory.

Coronavirus count case of Romanians abroad reaches 5,202

 

The Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, reported on Friday that 5,202 Romanians abroad had been confirmed infected with the novel coronavirus, with a death toll constant at 122.

Of the 5,202 Romanian citizens confirmed as infected 1,885 are in Italy, 561 in Spain, 117 in France, 2,330 in Germany, 127 in the United Kingdom, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 107 in Austria, 3 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Switzerland, 2 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 5 in Greece and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Ireland, Luxembourg, United Arab Emirates, Malta, Brazil, India, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, and Sweden.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 epidemic, 122 Romanian citizens abroad have died – 31 in Italy, 19 in France, 43 in Great Britain, 9 in Spain, 14 in Germany, 2 in Belgium, one in Sweden, one in Switzerland, one in the US and one in Brazil.

According to GCS, of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the novel coronavirus, 158 were declared cured: 135 in Germany, 11 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg and one in Tunisia.
