DefMin, Lockheed Martin Vice President for Central, Eastern Europe discuss army endowment programs

The Minister of National Defence, Nicolae Ciuca, met on Tuesday with Dennis Goge, the new Vice President for Central and Eastern Europe of the American company Lockheed Martin.

During the discussions, topics related to the implementation stage of the endowment programs underway with this company were addressed, as well as those in the operation and support phase, such as the F-16 Multirole Fighter, the MIM-104 Patriot surface-to-air missile, the multiple rocket launcher – M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS), the long range radars or short or medium-range surveillance radars, reads a press release of the Ministry of National Defence (MApN) sent to AGERPRES.

Minister Ciuca emphasized the importance of cooperation between Lockheed Martin and the operators in the Romanian defence industry, in order to ensure the security of supply and transfer of technology for the maintenance and production of military equipment in our country.

He also “highlighted Romania’s potential in key areas for the development of new military equipment, such as information technology, and highlighted the availability of the Ministry of National Defence to support joint research and development programs in the field of high-performance military technologies” shows the quoted source.
