GCS: Romania’s COVID-19 case count rises by 1.119 to 42.394

Another 1,119 cases of infection with the novel coronavirus have been registered since the last report by the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, informed on Friday.

All these are cases of persons who resulted to have the infection for the first time, said the GCS.

According to the same source, there have been 42,394 cases of persons infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) recorded until Thursday in Romania.

Also, 25,349 patients were declared cured and 2,918 asymptomatic people were discharged 10 days after detection.

To date, 1,053,656 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 22,532 were processed in the past 24 hours, 12,839 have been processed based on the case definition and medical protocol, and 9.693 upon requests. There have also been reported 432 tests processed before the past 24 hours and sent until July 24, according to the GCS.

 

Death toll rises by 24 to 2,150

 

The Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, announced on Friday that in the last 24 hours 24 people infected with the new coronavirus died in Romania, taking the COVID-19 death toll to 2,150.

The latest fatalities are 13 men and 11 women, hospitalised in the counties of Alba, Arges, Bacau, Bihor, Caras-Severin, Dambovita, Hunedoara, Iasi, Olt, Prahova, Sibiu, Suceava, Vaslui, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, two deaths were recorded in the 40-49 age class, two in the 50-59 age range, seven in the 60-69 age range, seven in the 70-79 age category and six in people over the age of 80.

According to the GCS, all deaths were in patients who had comorbidities.

Bucharest City (105), Arges County (101) and Dambovita County (70) are the areas with the most newly confirmed COVID-19 cases in Romania since the previous report, , the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, reported on Friday

The counties with the fewest newly confirmed cases are: Satu Mare (1), Calarasi (2), Cluj (3) and Salaj (3).

470 persons reconfirmed positive with COVID-19

 

A number of 470 people were retested and reconfirmed positive with COVID-19, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced on Friday.

“Apart from the newly confirmed cases, following the retesting of patients who were already positive, 470 people were reconfirmed positive,” says GCS.
