Senate’s Standing Bureau convenes to establish plenary sitting

The acting president of the Senate, Robert Cazanciuc, informed that the Standing Bureau will hold a meeting on Monday to establish the date of the plenary sitting where the emergency ordinance on gradually increases child allowances could also be discussed.

“Tomorrow we will have at the Senate a meeting of the Standing Bureau and we will establish the date of the plenary sitting since we are in an extraordinary session and all the documents coming from the Government are included on the agenda of this extraordinary session. We will establish the date of the plenary sitting and we will decide if it enters and when it enters, after passing the approval committees, for the report. This is not an emergency ordinance that we need to modify, but one that we need to reject, because it does not just defy the Romanian Parliament, but it also defies common sense,” Cazanciuc told a press conference at the PSD (Social Democratic Party) headquarters regarding the GEO on the gradual increase of child allowances.

He said PSD was definitely against a gradual increase

“We will see what we need to do in the committees or at the plenary sitting if we will reject this emergency ordinance or modify it of such manner to fully comply will the law in force. This is more like a technical matter,” said Cazanciuc, according to Agerpres.
