Deputy Prime Minister and first Vice-chairperson of the National Liberal Party Raluca Turcan said on Friday in Mangalia that in nine months of rule, the Orban Government had the highest absorption rate of European funds since Romania’s joining the bloc.
“Nine months into 2020, we succeeded in attracting 2.2 billion euros and we have projects signed for another 3.2 billion euros. For a comparison between the current and the past situation, the Social Democratic government’s performance last year was 1 billion euros attracted, the Liberal government so far has 5.7 billion euros. We have the highest absorption rate of European funds since the country’s joining the European Union and this shows how important it is for a government to have as a vision making the best of Romania’s potential as a EU member,” said Turcan, who participated in the signing of EU-funded contracts that will be carried out by the Mangalia City Hall.
