GCS: Romania’s COVID-19 case count rises by 4.931 to 365.212; 11.266 tests performed in the last 24 hrs

As many as 4,931 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 in Romania were recorded in the last 24 hours, following 11,266 tests nationwide, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, reported on Monday.

These are cases of patients that had not previously tested positive.

As of Monday, 365,212 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus were confirmed in Romania.

A total of 246,633 people were declared cured.

According to GCS, to date, 3,702,328 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 11,266 were performed in the last 24 hours, 7,499 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 3,767 upon request.


Record number of COVID-19 patients in ICU sections: 1.187


As many as 13,467 people with COVID-19 are admitted to health facilities, of which 1,187 are in Intensive Care units, the Strategic Communication Group reported on Monday.

On the territory of Romania, 47,397 people confirmed with infection with the novel coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 13,229 are in institutionalized isolation.

Moreover, 80,152 people are in quarantine at home, and 17 are placed in institutionalized quarantine.


999 new COVID-19 cases in Bucharest, followed by Constanta, Tulcea and Ilfov counties


The City of Bucharest – 999, the counties of Constanta – 362, Tulcea – 273, Ilfov – 272, Prahova – 272, Maramures – 258, Bihor – 257, Arad – 251, Timis – 244 and Sibiu – 220 are the areas with the most new confirmed coronavirus cases over the previous report, informs, on Monday, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS).
