GCS: 4,916 new cases of COVID-19 registered in Romania in past 24 hrs

As many as 4,916 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 have been recorded in the last 24 hours, following national tests, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reports on Wednesday.

These are cases that have not previously tested positive, the GCS states.

484,550 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been confirmed in Romania. As many as 371,231 people were declared cured.

According to the GCS, 4,137,893 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 15,701 were carried out in the last 24 hours, 11,455 based on case definition and medical protocol and 4,246 on request.

 

Number of ICU patients critical at 1,260, hospitalised Covid patients 13,529

 

As many as 13,529 COVID-19 patients are being treated in health facilities, of whom 1,260 are in intensive care, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Wednesday.

39,652 people confirmed with the novel coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 11,860 are in institutional isolation.

Also, 63,957 people are in quarantine at home, and 63 are placed in institutional quarantine.

In the past 24 hours, law enforcement issued 6,081 COVID-19 fines worth a combined 1,065,145 lei for violations of Law 55/2020 on specific measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, GCS said.

 

135 persons infected with SARS-CoV-2 have died in the last 24 hours, death toll hits 11.665

 

As many as 135 people – 84 men and 51 women – infected with the novel coronavirus have died in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths to 11,665, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Wednesday.

The GCS states that two deaths were recorded in the age group 30-39 years, 3 deaths in the 40-49 age category, 9 in the age category 50-59 years, 31 in the 60-69 age category, 41 deaths in the 70-79 age group and 49 deaths in the over 80-year-old category.

At the same time, according to the GCS, 123 of the deaths recorded are of some patients who had a medical history, seven of the deceased patients had no associated diseases, and no comorbidities have been reported for five deaths to date.

 

Bucharest City at 69,054 since pandemic onset, followed by Cluj and Iasi counties

 

Bucharest City tops the list with most cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection – 69,054 since the onset of the pandemic, followed by the counties of Cluj – 22,175, Iasi – 20,523, Prahova – 19,502, Brasov – 19,372, and Timis – 19,350, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) said today.

Constanta County reports a total case count of 17,982, Ilfov – 15,896, Sibiu – 14,287, Arges – 14,295, Bihor – 14,284, Suceava – 13,241, Bacau – 13,307, and Mures – 12,225.
