GCS: 3.660 cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 registered in Romania in the last 24 hours

A number of 3,660 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 have been registered in the last 24 hours, following 8,791 tests processed at national level, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Monday.

These are cases that have not had previously a positive test, the GCS says.

In Romania, 517,236 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been confirmed so far.

A total of 409,121 people were declared cured.

According to the GCS, to date, 4,264,272 tests have been processed nationwide. Of these, 8,791 were performed in the last 24 hours – 6,532 based on the case definition and medical protocol, and 2,259 upon request.

 

1,280 patients in ICUs, 12,762 people hospitalized

 

A number of 12,762 people with COVID-19 are hospitalized in the specialized health units, out of which 1,280 in intensive care, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informed on Monday.

In Romania, 45,009 people confirmed to be infected with the novel coronavirus are in self-isolation at home and 12,075 are in institutional isolation.

Also, 67,627 people are in quarantine at home and 126 in institutionalized quarantine.

 

127 people infected with SARS-CoV-2 die in last 24 hours

 

A number of 127 people (79 men and 48 women) infected with the novel coronavirus have died in the last 24 hours, the total number of deaths reaching 12,447, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Monday.

According to the GCS, 118 deaths were reported in patients who had comorbidities, for six patients no comorbidities were reported, and for three no comorbidities have been reported to date.

 

Most new cases in Bucharest – 1,828, followed by counties of Constanta, Ilfov, Iasi

 

The areas with the most newly confirmed cases of coronavirus compared to the last report are Bucharest – 1,828 and the counties of Constanta – 466, Ilfov – 242, Iasi – 214, Cluj – 198, according to the data transmitted on Monday by the Strategic Communication Group (GCS).

High numbers of new cases were also registered in the counties of Arges – 175, Brasov – 147, Sibiu – 144.

The fewest new cases were registered in the counties of Satu Mare – 1, Valcea – 3, Salaj – 3, Bistrita – 4, and in Covasna none were reported.

 

Bucharest – 75,850 cases of infection with SARS-CoV-2 since beginning of pandemic; followed by Cluj, Iasi

 

Most cases of infection with SARS-CoV-2, so far, were recorded in Bucharest – 75,850, and Cluj – 23,822, Iasi – 21,930, Brasov – 20,690, Timis – 20.613, Prahova – 20,534 and Constanta – 19,972, according to the data provided by the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) on Monday.

There were 517,236 cases of infections with the novel coronavirus, in Romania, in total. A number of 409,121 patients were declared cured.
