Telekom Romania draws attention to online fraud

Frequently, in the online environment, fraud campaigns are organized through which users are informed that they can win prizes, consisting of state-of-the-art phones, from Telekom’s partners or from other well-known companies in Romania, in exchange for completing an online questionnaire.

Fraud can take place through text messages, phone calls, e-mail or other sites that mimic Telekom Romania, with the intention of misleading. Most often, it is hidden under various customer reward programs, in which they are invited to provide personal information or identification data, such as name, surname, personal identification number, home address, passwords, subscriber code, bank card information (card number, CVC code, PIN) etc.

Telekom Romania does not organize such campaigns and warns customers not to respond to messages asking to call telephone numbers or to access links indicated for claiming prizes, without verifying the authenticity of online campaigns or contests, through Telekom Romania Facebook private messaging or at the telephone number 1234.

All campaigns with prizes organized by Telekom are carried out only on the official communication pages of the company and are not conditioned by making payments or communicating personal information, a press release issued by the company informs.

More information on various fraud attempts can be found here.
