A number of 2,901 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 were registered in the last 24 hours, following over 31,000 tests made at a national level, informed, on Thursday, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS).
These are cases that did not have a positive test prior, the GCS specifies.
Other 90 people – 57 male and 33 female – infected with SARS-CoV-2 died within the last 24 hours, the death toll reaching 18,105, according to the data sent on Thursday by the GCS.
Of these, one casualty was registered to the 30-39 age category, 7 casualties for the 40-49 category, 6 casualties for the 50-59 category, 19 casualties for the 60-69 age category, 32 casualties for the 70-79 category and 25 casualties for the over 80 years old.
87 of these registered casualties are of patients who presented comorbidities, two deceased patients did not present any comorbidities, and for one deceased patient there were currently no comorbidities reported.
989 ICU patients, 7,687 people hospitalised with Covid
As many as 7,687 COVID-19 patients are being treated in health facilities, of whom 989 are in intensive care, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reports on Thursday.
42,062 people confirmed with the novel coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 10,502 are in institutional isolation.
Also, 61,560 people are in quarantine at home, and 162 are placed in institutional quarantine.
Bucharest, in its 9th day in Yellow scenario – 2.04 cases per thousand inhabitants
The Bucharest Municipality remains for the 9th day in the yellow area regarding the infection rate with the new coronavirus, cumulated at 14 days, after registering 2,04 cases per thousand inhabitants on Thursday, dropping from the previous day, when it had 2.07 cases per thousand inhabitants, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced.
Timis county remains in the red area, with 3.31 cases per thousand inhabitants, dropping from the previous day, when the incidence was of 3.36.
Another 9 counties are found in the yellow area (incidence between 1.5 and 3) and 31 counties in the green area (under 1.5 cases per thousand inhabitants), the smallest infection rates with SARS-CoV-2 being registered in Buzau (0.48), Olt (0.5), Harghita (0.62), Iasi (0.63).
Law enforcement issue 4,589 COVID-19 fines in past 24 hours
Law enforcement issued in the past 24 hours 4,589 fines amounting to a combined 800,350 lei for violations of Law No. 55/2020 on specific measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reports on Thursday.
Also, the Police found five instances of hampering diseases control, a crime under Article 352 of the Criminal Code.
