Telekom Romania organized the first digital conference on “User Experience during COVID-19: changes, challenges and a new perspective on the user“.
The event took place on January 27 and was addressed to professionals in User Experience Design, but also people passionate about digital and businesses who want to adapt to the new reality. The conference was broadcast live on Facebook. This initiative is a premiere for the Romanian market and was created as part of the Telekom Digital Lab platform.
The last year has changed customer behaviour, as a result, businesses have had to respond to new challenges and adapt quickly. The new atypical context put the component of User Experience Design, or simpler UX design, even more in the centre of attention, but it also brought multiple challenges. The objective of the conference was to provide other companies and all interested parties with information about the latest ideas and trends in UX design, including both the expertise of Telekom Romania and the perspective and solutions of specialists with national and international experience.
During the conference, 9 professionals recognized for their expertise in the field in Romania approached the theme from different perspectives. Topics discussed include Design Thinking, UX Pandemic Research, UX Consulting, UX Writing, and Copywriting. At the same time, the participants had the opportunity to discover the latest information about the evolution, opportunities, and challenges of the industry, in extensive and intensive sessions with the invited specialists.
“New digital technologies and tools are shaping companies, as well as the social environment. In this context, we set out not only to explore the latest trends in the field but also to act as a social facilitator, to share what we have achieved and what we have learned during this difficult period. Automation and digitization have been a priority for Telekom since 2018, which allowed us to react quickly to this year’s challenges. We believe that we must continue to give customers the attention they deserve and an easy and ultimate digital experience. “In 2020 we were able to see how COVID-19 managed to change the way we were used to interacting with people. We have seen how digital has emerged as an alternative and how more and more users are starting to use digital media. It was a great opportunity for the digital environment to become better, more adapted to the needs of users. This adaptation of the digital environment, during the pandemic, preoccupied us at Telekom Romania as well. We asked ourselves how we can improve the user experience on our mobile or web applications and we implemented a strategy that corresponds to the significant increase in the number of interactions during this period. The idea of the conference came naturally because we thought it was useful to share our expertise and that of other professionals in the UX design area to an audience interested in the subject and concerned about current challenges”, said Gabriel Trăistaru, Director of Digitization Division, Telekom Romania.
