A number of 3,743 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 have been registered in the last 24 hours, following over 13,000 tests performed, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Monday.
These are cases that have not previously tested positive, says the quoted source.
As many as 900,858 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus were confirmed in Romania until Monday. Of these, 808,754 were declared cured.
To date, 6,494,782 RT-PCR tests and 507,035 rapid antigen tests have been processed nationwide.
In the last 24 hours, 7,902 RT-PCR tests (6,249 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 1,653 on request) and 5,650 rapid antigen tests were performed.
Aside from the newly confirmed cases, 589 people retested positive.
60 persons infected with SARS-CoV-2 died in the past 24 hours, total death toll hits 22,268
As many as 60 persons – 26 men and 34 women – infected with SARS-CoV-2 have passed away in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll since beginning of the pandemic to 22,268, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informs Monday.
One death was recorded in the age category 20-29 years, two deaths in the age category 40-49 years, two deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 16 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 24 deaths in the age category 70-79 years and 15 deaths in the category over 80 years.
The GCS also says that 53 deaths were recorded in patients with medical pre-conditions, four patients had no associated diseases, and no comorbidities had been reported for three deceased patients to date.
The GCS informs that 189 Romanian citizens abroad died from COVID-19 from the beginning of the pandemic.
1,339 ICU patients, 12,215 people hospitalised
As many as 12,215 COVID-19 patients are being treated in health facilities, of whom 1,339 are in intensive care, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reports on Monday.
62,720 people confirmed with SARS-CoV-2 are in isolation at home, and 15,592 are in institutional isolation.
Also, 53,920 people are in quarantine at home and 115 are placed in institutional quarantine, the GCS said.
Bucharest, Ilfov, Timis, Brasov, Hunedoara, Constanta, Alba, Salaj and Arad in red scenario
The county of Arad has entered the red scenario, with an incidence of 3,00 cases of infection with SARS-CoV-2 per thousand inhabitants, announced, on Monday, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS).
Thus, the county of Arad joins the other counties and the capital, as follows: Bucharest registers an infection rate with SARS-CoV-2 since the previous reporting – 5,67 cases per thousand inhabitants, followed by Ilfov with 6.78 cases of infection with SARS-Cov-2, rising from the previous day, Timis – with an infection rate of 5.97, dropping from the previous day, Brasov – 4.62, Cluj – 4.30, Hunedoara – 4.18, Constanta – 3.57, Alba 3.39 and Salaj – 3.21
According to the GCS, the areas with the most confirmed new cases with SARS-CoV-2 since the last reporting are Bucharest – 1,446 and the counties of Ilfov and Cluj – 236 cases each, Brasov – 170, Constanta – 161, Timis – 155.
