Stefan Schaffer announced as Head of DB Global Technology

  • Stefan Schaffer is the new Head of DB Global Technology

  • At present the company reached 1,000 team members and continues to further expand the team with specialists in cloud technologies, cyber security, networking and testing for SAP S/4 Hana platform


DB Global Technology, Deutsche Bank’s technology centre in Bucharest that mainly specialises in developing financial and banking software applications, has announced the appointment of Stefan Schaffer as Head of DB Technology. Stefan joins the team while continuing his current role of Head of Central Chief Information Office (CIO) for Technology, Data & Innovation for the Private Bank.

Stefan has almost 30 years of experience in delivering exceptional IT solutions for businesses. During his career, he has developed IT products and services for a number of companies, managed major business unit integration projects, as well as technology solutions for risk management and compliance divisions. In July 2020 he joined Deutsche Bank after working as partner in a professional services company, where he was responsible for providing technology-enabled anti-fraud and compliance services. Stefan Schaffer holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and computer science from Universität Karlsruhe (now Karlsruhe Institute of Technology).

Stefan Schaffer will perform his duties in partnership with the local management team and Paul Batog, who will assume a series of responsibilities in relation to the centre’s management, in addition to his current role of Head of Global Procurement Department.

In 2021, DB Global Technology will continue to expand its local team and develop new projects. The centre in Bucharest reached the milestone of 1,000 team members and continues to expand with specialists in cloud technologies, cyber security, networking and SAP S/4 Hana platform testing.
