A number of 5,231 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 were registered in the last 24 hours, out of over 37,000 tests, informed, on Tuesday, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS).
These are cases that did not have a positive test prior, the quoted source specifies.
Up until Tuesday, on Romania’s territory, there were 983,217 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus. Of these, 880,429 were declared healed, the CGS specified.
At a national level, up until now, there there were 6,849,813 RT-PCR tests done and 661,094 quick antigenic tests. In the last 24 hours there were 24,809 RT-PCR tests done (15,422, under the case definition and medical protocol and 9,387 upon request) and 12,721 quick antigenic tests.
Separate from the newly confirmed cases, upon retesting patients who were already positive, 1,368 people were reconfirmed positive.
196 people infected with SARS-CoV-2 have died in the past 24 hours, total death toll hits 24,386
A total of 196 people – 109 men and 87 women – infected with SARS-CoV-2 have passed away in the last 24 hours, according to data submitted Tuesday by the Strategic Communication Group.
One death was recorded in the age category 20 to 29 years, another in the age category 30 – 39 years, five in the age category 40 – 49 years, 12 in the age category 50 – 59 years, 65 in the age category 60 – 69 years, 64 in the age category 70 – 79 years and 48 in the category over 80 years.
184 of the deaths were recorded in patients with pre-existing medical condition, seven deaths had no comorbidities, and no medical history has been reported to date for five deaths.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 24,386 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died in Romania, along with 189 Romanian nationals abroad.
1,466 people in intensive care, 14,052 hospitalizations
As many as 14,052 COVID-19 patients are being treated in health facilities, of whom 1,466 are in intensive care, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reports on Tuesday.
67,046 people confirmed with SARS-CoV-2 are in isolation at home, and 16,724 are in institutional isolation.
Also, 47,882 people are in quarantine at home and 122 are placed in institutional quarantine, the GCS said.
Ilfov county registers highest incidence rate – 8.68 cases per thousand inhabitants
The county of Ilfov registers an incidence of 8.68 SARS-CoV-2 cases per thousand inhabitants, dropping from the previous day (8.97), according to the data communicated on Tuesday by the Strategic Communication Group (GCS).
In Bucharest the infection rate is 6.92 cases per thousand inhabitants, rising from the previous day (6.83).
