Farmec expands the “Ai grijă de natură așa cum ai grijă de tine” campaign nationwide

In 2020, the pilot-programme of the campaign was carried out in five Farmec and Gerovital stores in Cluj-Napoca, Targu Mureș, and Oradea and ended with more than 5,200 collected and recycled packages

 

 Farmec, the largest Romanian cosmetics manufacturer, expands the social responsibility campaign “Ai grijă de natură așa cum ai grijă de tine” (“Take care of nature the same way you take care of yourself”) nationally, in all its owned stores. Starting April, customers will be able to recycle paper, plastic, glass, and aluminium packaging from Farmec products at dedicated collection points in Farmec and Gerovital stores across the country.

“We are one of the few manufacturers in Romania that offer its customers the possibility to return and collect the packaging of the products they have used. We aim to limit the impact of our activity on the environment as much as possible by integrating the principles of the circular economy, such as closing the life cycle of products with the recovery of the packaging we put on the market. We want to contribute to a cleaner environment with our customers, which we encourage to be responsible with us”, stated Andra Șumandea, Marketing Specialist.

The “Ai grijă de natură așa cum ai grijă de tine” campaign was launched as a pilot programme in 2020 in five Farmec and Gerovital brand stores in Cluj-Napoca, Targu Mureş and Oradea. In total, more than 5,200 packages were brought by consumers, collected, and recycled responsibly in the stores included in the program, in a year in which the store schedule was often restricted as a result of the pandemic. Positive feedback from consumers in stores and on social media about the pilot project was an important signal in the decision to expand the programme at national level and develop more activities within this campaign.

All 8 Farmec stores and 22 Gerovital stores, as well as the franchised store in Piteşti, are included in the campaign. They are equipped with collection points for paper and cardboard packaging (cream boxes), plastic (cream containers, shampoo, shower gel or cleaning products from the Nufărul and Triumf ranges), glass (cream jars) and metal (spray doses). In order to be recycled, containers must be emptied of contents, rinsed, and cleaned by customers who bring them to stores.

In addition, for every four recycled packages, customers receive a gift product from Farmec, based on a card on which a stamp is added to each returned package.
