A number of 3,883 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 have been recorded in the last 24 hours, being performed over 35,000 tests, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informed on Tuesday.
These are cases that have not previously had a positive test, the same source states.
As of Monday, 1,012,373 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been confirmed in Romania.
915,464 patients were declared cured, GCS said.
To date, 7,009,325 RT-PCR tests and 726,971 rapid antigen tests have been processed nationwide.
In the last 24 hours, 23,890 RT-PCR tests were performed (15,161 based on the case definition and the medical protocol and 8,729 upon request) and 11,905 rapid antigen tests.
Aside from the newly confirmed cases, following the retesting of patients who were already positive, 813 people were reconfirmed positively.

A number of 193 people infected with SARS-CoV-2 have died in the last 24 hours, according to data reported on Tuesday by the Strategic Communication Group (GCS).
According to GCS, 97 men and 96 women died.
According to the GCS, 180 of the deaths were from comorbidities, four deceased patients did not have comorbidities, and no comorbidities have been reported so far for nine deceased patients.
Since the beginning of the pandemic and until now, 25,441 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died in Romania. At the same time, 189 Romanian citizens abroad died due to COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Worldwide, 2,857,866 people have died.
1,530 patients in ICU; hospitalized – 13,661
A number of 13,661 people infected with COVID-19 are hospitalized in the specialized health units, out of whom 1,530 in intensive care, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced on Tuesday.
In total, 62,691 people confirmed with SARS-CoV-2 infection are in isolation at home and 16,347 are in institutionalized isolation in Romania, GCS said.
Also, 50,168 people are in quarantine at home and in institutionalized quarantine – 124, according to GCS.
In the last 24 hours, 4,612 calls were registered to the emergency number 112 and 752 to the TELVERDE line (0800 800 358), open especially for informing citizens.
