Romanian Gendarmerie confirms prosecutors conduct searches in several of its headquarters

The Romanian Gendarmerie confirms that the prosecutors are currently conducting searches at several of its headquarters, over the organization of an exam for the advancement in rank of officer.

“We confirm the searches that are currently conducted under the coordination of the case prosecutor at several headquarters of the Gendarmerie. Our institution is the first interested in clarifying all suspicions related to the organisation of an exam for the advancement in rank of officer, and we are providing all the relevant documents to the prosecutors,” said a release of the press office of the Romanian Gendarmerie.

The prosecutors of the National Anti-corruption Directorate (DNA) are conducting, on Tuesday, searches at the headquarters of the Romanian Gendarmerie and at several county inspectorates, judicial sources told AGERPRES.

According to the same sources, the prosecutors check the organization of competitions for joining the officers’ corps.
