Enel continues the energy market information campaign and launches “Everything about liberalization” video series

Enel Energie and Enel Energie Muntenia continue the consumer information campaign on the energy market liberalization and launch “Everything about liberalization”, a series of video interviews meant to answer to the most frequently asked questions received from customers on this topic.

With the help of Enel specialists, consumers can find out what are the main changes in the electricity market following the liberalization process, how to choose the offer that best meets their needs and what to pay attention to when concluding a supply contract.

At the same time, the video interviews explain what will happen after June 30, 2021, when the period of commercial discounts offered to customers in the universal service expires.

“We strongly believe that only through good information, customers can make the best choices. We have assumed from the very beginning the role of communicators in this entire process of the electricity market liberalization, through information campaigns dedicated to all consumers, which we have carried out in recent years. We continued them in 2020, we are doing so in 2021 as well, to raise awareness of the advantages of a competitive, flexible market. In addition to the price, electricity supply has several defining characteristics that customers should consider: we talk about the method and frequency of billing, digital platforms, customer service centres available, time to respond to requests, payment terms, conditions to terminate contracts. Therefore, it is necessary for the price to be one of the criteria in choosing an electricity offer and not a defining element, and the consumer should see the whole picture, and the services and the products with added value”, said Michele Abbate, General Manager of Enel Energie and Enel Energie Muntenia.

The videos can be watched on Enel’s main digital channels in Romania: Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and YouTube, as well as on the enel.ro website, where customers can find a section dedicated to the electricity market liberalization, with the latest information related to this process.

Efforts to inform and encourage consumers to choose competitive offers in recent years have made Enel Energie and Enel Energie Muntenia reach the largest number of customers in the competitive electricity market. Out of the about 2.9 million household customers in the portfolio of the two supply companies within Enel in Romania, 76% already benefit from competitive contracts, the largest share amongst all large electricity suppliers in the country.

Following the information campaigns carried out by the two supply companies last year and continued in 2021, along with the letters sent to customers with their monthly bills, almost 140,000 household consumers opted for offers on the competitive market in the first quarter of this year, 40% more compared to the same period last year.

Enel Energie and Enel Energie Muntenia cover the needs of electricity consumers in all areas of the country. Customers are guaranteed fixed electricity prices for the chosen period and can manage everything online: from signing the contract, to receiving and paying the bill, requesting information and tracking consumption. Moreover, Enel’s offerings have included natural gas supply in recent years, making Enel an integrated energy supplier, but also various value-added services and products, such as emergency technical assistance for home installations, efficient lighting or the purchase of electronic and household appliances with payment in instalments and with the installation service included.
