A number of 1,422 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 were registered in the last 24 hours, where over 38,400 tests were done, informed on Friday, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS).
These are cases which did not have a a positive test prior, the quoted source specifies.
Until Friday, on Romania’s territory, there were 1,063,949 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus, and 1,009,237 patients were declared cured.
At a national level, until this date, there were 7,472,840 RT-PCR tests done and 946,686 quick antigenic tests.
In the last 24 hours there were 26,443 RT-PCR tests done (13,337 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 13,106 upon request) and 12,046 quick antigenic tests.
Apart from the newly confirmed cases, upon retesting patients who were already positive, 293 persons were reconfirmed positive.
1,041 patients in ICU, out of 6,970 Covid hospitalizations
As many as 6,970 people with COVID-19 are being treated in health facilities, of whom 1,041 are in intensive care, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced on Friday.
Per total, 21,725 people confirmed with SARS-CoV-2 infection are in isolation at home and 7,231 are in institutional isolation throughout Romania, the GCS said.
Moreover, 47,949 people are in quarantine at home and 129 are in institutional quarantine.
89 persons infected with SARS-CoV-2 have died in the last 24 hours
A number of 89 people infected with SARS-CoV-2 have died in the last 24 hours, according to data transmitted on Friday by the Strategic Communication Group (GCS).
According to the GCS, the dead are 41 men and 48 women.
By age categories, 3 deaths were recorded in the 20-29 years old age category, one death in the 30-39 years old age category, seven in 40-49 years old age category, 13 deaths in the 50-59 years old age category, 21 deaths in the 60-69 year old age category, 28 in the 70-79 age category and 16 deaths in people aged over 80
According to the GCS, 87 of the registered deaths were of patients who had comorbidities, and 2 deceased patients did not have comorbidities.
Since the beginning of the pandemic and until now, 28,799 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died in Romania.
At the same time, 190 Romanian citizens abroad died due to COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.
Bucharest, another 3 counties, in yellow scenario for SARS-CoV-2 infection rate
Bucharest and 3 counties are in the yellow scenario for infections with SARS-CoV-2, announced, on Friday, the Strategic Communications Group (GCS).
Bucharest recorded an infection rate of 1.90 cases per thousand inhabitants, dropping from 2.07 the previous day.
Also in the yellow scenario (incidence between 1.5 and 3) are the counties of Ilfov – 1.77, Cluj – 1.72, Alba – 1.57.
