The United Kingdom has seen a 49.7 percent increase in the number of international staff from Romania during the 2018/19 academic year compared to 2014/15.
Romania is one of the top 20 countries with the most significant change in international academic staff working at UK higher education institutions, Erudera.com reports. According to the data provided, in 2018/19 there were 1,295 academic staff working in the UK.
Gent Ukëhajdaraj from Erudera attributes this increase to the prestigious reputation of UK universities, their history, quality education, and the multi-cultural environment they provide.

Medicine, dentistry & health – 130
Social studies – 130
Biological, mathematical & physical sciences – 125
Administration & business studies – 80
According to official statistics, 91,805 out of the total number of academic staff working at UK higher education institutions in 2018/19 were international. The top five countries of nationality for international staff at UK higher education institutions were Italy, Ireland, Germany, China and the United States. 58.4% of international staff were EU nationals.
