A number of 37 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 have been registered in the last 24 hours, with over 25,000 tests having been conducted, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informed on Friday.
These are cases that have not previously tested positive.
As of Friday, 1,080,860 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been confirmed in Romania, and 1,045,351 patients have been declared cured.
To date, 8,375,802 RT-PCR tests and 1,481,313 rapid antigen tests have been processed nationally.
In the last 24 hours, 14,119 RT-PCR tests were performed (6,959 based on the case definition and the medical protocol and 7,160 on request) and 11,080 rapid antigen tests.
Apart from the newly confirmed cases, following the retesting of patients who were already positive, 9 people were reconfirmed positively.
67 COVID-19 patients in intensive care out of 418 hospitalizations
As many as 418 COVID-19 patients are being treated in health facilities, of whom 67 in intensive care, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced on Friday.
In total, 1,788 people infected with SARS-CoV-2 are in isolation at home and 733 are in institutionalized isolation, the GCS specified.
Furthermore, 18,646 people are in quarantine at home and 34 are placed in institutional quarantine.
Most new COVID-19 cases in Romania reported by Cluj County and Bucharest; zero cases in 21 counties
Most of the newly confirmed COVID-19 cases in Romania from the previous reporting were recorded in Cluj County – 6, and in Bucharest City – 4, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced on Friday.
No new cases were recorded in 21 counties.
All counties and Bucharest City remain in the COVID-19 green zone, with the highest 14-day COVID-19 cumulative rate reported by the counties of Prahova – 0.11 cases per 1,000 population, and Ilfov – 0.09.
