Bergenbier S.A., part of the Molson Coors Beverage Company group – one of the most important beer companies in Romania – has joined the ExtravaCANza initiative which aims to collect and recycle aluminum cans on the seaside.
In the first two weekends of the campaign, almost 5,750 doses (~ 73 kg) were deposited in the smart device in Mamaia and in exchange for collecting 5 aluminum cans, the participants were able to cool off, at choice, with a Bergenbier beer, Bergenbier Non-Alcohol, Bergenbier Fresh Lemon or Bergenbier Fresh Grapefruit without alcohol.
Tourists can deposit the doses consumed, regardless of their shape, size or color on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, between 13.00-17.00, in the vending machine available in Mamaia resort, at Taverna Aventura.
In exchange for five doses introduced into the machine, participants will receive a dose of juice or beer. In addition, the smart device will randomly issue a winning voucher, and its owner will enjoy a voucher with prizes.
“One of the most important principles of Bergenbier S.A. is to be a reliable partner of civil society and to provide consumers with constant support for a sustainable environment. Each such initiative we support is a step towards a more efficient use of natural resources, throughout the beer production chain, thus minimizing the effect on the environment. In this way we are closer to the global objectives of 2025 Our Beer Print, through which we want to protect the environment and the communities in which we operate “, said Alexandra Barroso, Legal and Corporate Affairs Director, Bergenbier S.A.
Bergenbier S.A. is a partner in the ExtravaCANza project for the fourth consecutive year. In 2021, the project runs from July 2nd to August 22nd and is initiated through the Every Can Counts program dedicated to selective collection, in order to encourage recycling outside the home – at work, at public events or on vacation. In 2020, more than 23,000 doses of aluminum were collected and recycled, which allowed the beaches to be kept cleaner and at the same time encouraged responsible behavior on the part of tourists.
