GCS: Romania’s COVID-19 case count rises by 84 following over 11.300 tests done in last 24 hours

A number of 84 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 were registered in the last 24 hours, where over 11,300 tests were made, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced on Monday.

These are cases that did not have a prior positive test result.

Until Monday, nationwide, there were 1,082,376 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus, and 1,047,291 patients were declared healed.

Nationwide, until this date, there were 8,627,966 RT-PCR tests done and 1,765,016 quick antigenic tests.

In the last 24 hours, there were 4,087 RT-PCR tests carried out (1,678 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 2,409 upon request) and 7,289 quick antigenic tests.

Apart from the newly confirmed cases, upon retesting patients who were already positive, 6 people were reconfirmed positive.

 

38 COVID-19 patients in intensive care out of 316 hospitalisations

 

As many as 316 people with COVID-19 are hospitalised in Romania at specialist care facilities, out of whom 38 in intensive care, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, reports on Monday.

In Romania, 704 people confirmed with the novel coronavirus are in isolation at home and 464 are in institutional isolation.

Also, 42,769 people are in quarantine at home and 43 in institutional quarantine.

 

Two deaths in COVID-19 patients in past 24 hours, total death toll hits 34,270

 

The Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Monday that two deaths have been reported in patients infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the past 24 hours.

 

The people who died were admitted to hospitals in Constanta and Bucuresti, in the 60-69 years old and the 70-79 years old categories.

Both patients had comorbidities.

No prior deaths to the reference interval were reported.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, as many as 34,270 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died in Romania.

 

Most new cases of COVID-19 in Bucharest: 25

 

most newly confirmed cases of COVID-19, from the last reporting registered in Bucharest – 25 and in the counties of Ilfov – 11, Constanta – 10, and Timis – 9, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) announced on Monday.

In 14 counties there have not been any new cases of COVID-19.

All counties and the Bucharest Municipality remain in the green scenario regarding the number of infections with the novel coronavirus, the highest incidence per thousand inhabitants being in the Bucharest Municipality – 0.07.
