A number of 159 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 have been registered in the last 24 hours, following over 26,700 tests, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informed on Wednesday.
These are cases that have not previously had a positive test.
As of Wednesday, 1,082,710 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus have been confirmed in Romania, and 1,047,444 patients have been declared cured.
To date, 8,654,544 RT-PCR tests and 1,795,468 rapid antigen tests have been processed nationwide.
In the last 24 hours, 13,034 RT-PCR tests were performed (5,758 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 7,276 on request) and 13,674 rapid antigen tests.
Aside from the newly confirmed cases, following the retesting of patients who were already positive, 34 people were reconfirmed positive.
47 patients in ICU with COVID-19, of 362 people admitted
A number of 362 people infected with the novel coronavirus have been admitted in medical units, of whom 47 in the Intensive Care Unit, the Strategic Communication Group announced on Wednesday.
Nationwide, 742 people confirmed with the novel coronavirus are isolating at home, and 510 are in institutional isolation.
Furthermore, 44,802 people are quarantining at home, and 979 are in institutional quarantine.
One casualty reported in the last 24 hours for patients infected with SARS-CoV-2
A single casualty was reported in the last 24 hours for patients infected with SARS-CoV-2, the Strategic Communication Group announced on Wednesday (GCS).
According to the GCS, it is about a 70 year old woman who was admitted in a hospital in Bucharest and who presented comorbidities.
There have been no casualties reported prior to the reference interval.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, 34,274 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 have died in Romania.
Most new COVID-19 cases in Bucharest – 45
The most newly confirmed COVID-19 cases since the last report were registered in Bucharest – 45 and in the counties of Timis – 16, Constanta – 15, Ilfov – 13, the Strategic Communication Group announced on Wednesday.
In nine counties there have been no new cases of COVID-19 reported.
All counties and the City of Bucharest remain in the green scenario, from the point of view of infections with the novel coronavirus, the largest incidence per thousand inhabitants being in the county of Ilfov – 0.13.
