As many as 383 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 have been registered in the last 24 hours, 32,311 tests being performed, the Strategic Communication Group informed on Friday.
These are cases that have not previously had a positive test.
Until Friday, 1,086,492 cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus had been confirmed in Romania, and 1,049,537 patients had been declared cured.
So far, 8,857,234 RT-PCR tests and 2,036,221 rapid antigen tests have been processed all over the country.
In the past 24 hours, 13,537 RT-PCR tests were performed (4,288 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 9,249 upon request) and 18,774 rapid antigen tests.
Apart from the newly confirmed cases, following the retesting of patients who were already positive, 45 people were reconfirmed positively.
102 COVID-19 patients in intensive care out of 786 hospitalisations
As many as 786 people with COVID-19 are hospitalised in Romania at specialist care facilities, out of whom 102 in intensive care, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS), the official novel coronavirus communication task force, reports on Friday.
In Romania, 2,157 people confirmed with the novel coronavirus are in isolation at home and 933 are in institutional isolation.
Also, 64,174 people are in quarantine at home and 64 in institutional quarantine.
Three people die from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours
Three deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours in patients infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the Strategic Communication Group said on Friday.
According to GCS, these are three women hospitalized in the counties of Bistrita-Nasaud, Calarasi, Iasi.
Of these, one death was recorded in the age group 40-49 years and 2 in the age category 70-79 years.
Two of the recorded deaths were in patients who had comorbidities, and one deceased patient did not have any medical record.
No deaths before the reference interval are reported.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, as many as 34,337 people diagnosed with SARS-CoV-2 infection have died in Romania.
Most new COVID-19 cases in Romania reported by Bucharest City – 83
Most of the newly confirmed COVID-19 cases in Romania since the previous reporting were recorded in Bucharest City – 83 and the counties of Cluj – 19, Neamt – 16, Ilfov – 16, and Timis – 15, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) reported on Friday.
Four counties – Gorj, Harghita, Salaj and Tulcea – recorded no new cases.
All counties and Bucharest City remain in the COVID-19 green zone, with the highest 14-day COVID-19 cumulative rate reported by Ilfov County – 0.3 cases per 1,000 population.
