First Deputy Chairman of the opposition Social Democratic Party (PSD) Sorin Grindeanu announced on Tuesday that PSD tabled a motion of censure against the Citu government.
“PSD has filed a motion of censure against the Citu Government called ‘Stop poverty, price increases and convicts. Down with the Citu Government!.’ We are waiting for the standing bureaus to be called in session as soon as possible, in accordance with the Constitution says, and we will put forth an agenda so that this incompetent government can go home as soon as possible. (…) We have tabled a legal motion, with 157 PSD signatures, meeting all the requirements,” Grindeanu said at the Parliament House, according to Agerpres.
He added that PSD is counting on the fact that the Save Romania Union – Freedom, Unity and Solidarity (USR PLUS) alliance and the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR ) will vote for this motion of censure.
Ciolacu: Snap polls – this is PSD’s decision and solution at this point
PSD leader Marcel Ciolacu on Tuesday stated that there can be no other governing coalition formed at this point and the only solution is early polls.
“We do not believe in the possibility of a resetting of this coalition or the establishment of a new one to continue to govern. Early polls – this is the decision and solution PSD has at this point,” Ciolacu told a press conference organized at the PSD headquarters.
