USR: New USL majority has been formed in Parliament; PSD and PNL MPs are rejecting “arm in arm” the candidates proposed in the Dacian Ciolos Cabinet

Save Romania Union (USR) claims that a “new USL majority” [USL – Social Liberal Union, a former political alliance between the Social Democratic Party (PSD), and the Centre Right Alliance (ACD) of National Liberal Party (PNL) and the Conservative Party (PC) – editor’s note] has been formed in Parliament, since the Social Democrat and Liberal MPs are rejecting “arm in arm” the candidates proposed in the Dacian Ciolos Cabinet. However, USR will continue to make these proposals because Romania needs a government right now.

“We have a new USL majority in the Romanian Parliament. PSD and PNL are rejecting the USR candidates for ministries arm in arm. They fail to overcome their own annoyances, interests, political calculations. The vote we see in the committees has nothing to do with the measures in the governing programme or the quality of the proposed ministers,” showed USR in a post on Facebook.

The party’s representatives say that they came to Parliament with a government proposal and a governing programme because the PNL and PSD “ran away from responsibility and did not have the courage to come up with any proposals.”

“USR will go all the way with these proposals because we need a government to get the country out of the crisis as soon as possible,” they added, according to Agerpres.
