17.158 COVID-19 positives, 423 deaths in the past 24 hours in Romania

As many as 17,158 Covid positives have been registered in the past 24 hours, as well as 423 Covid-related deaths, 9 of which prior to the reporting period, the Strategic Communication Group (GCS) informs on Wednesday, citing data available with the National Intervention Coordination and Management Center – CNCCI as of October 20, at 10:00..

COVID incidence rate in Bucharest – 16.51 per thousand inhabitants

 

The COVID-19 incidence rate calculated at 14 days, on Wednesday, in Bucharest, is 16.51 cases per thousand inhabitants, according to the website of DSP (Public Health Directorate).

One day before, the incidence rate was 16.44.

One month ago, on September 20, the COVID-19 incidence rate in Bucharest was 2.57 cases per thousand inhabitants, according to DSP.

The COVID incidence passed 6 per thousand inhabitants on September 29.

 

Law enforcement conducts over 100,000 Covid compliance checks, hands 400,000 lei worth of fines

 

Police issued in the past 24 hours 2,343 fines worth a combined of nearly 400,000 lei, following 100,215 spot checks on the observance of Covid prevention measures and restrictions. Law enforcement also opened four criminal cases for thwarting the combat of the spread of disease, the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police (IGPR) informs in a release on Wednesday.

Police, together with gendarmes, border police, personnel of the Emergency Situations Inspectorate, local police, representatives of the National Veterinary and Food Safety Authority, the Health Ministry, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, the Transport Ministry and local authorities conducted 509 actions nationwide to check on compliance with the health protection measures, the cited release states.
