CMS Romania expands technology and regulatory practices with strategic Senior Counsel hire

International law firm CMS has announced the hiring of Laura Grigore in the Technology, Media and Telecommunications (TMT) practice of its Bucharest office. Laura joined CMS as Senior Counsel on October 1 2021.

With over 15 years of experience in business law, Laura Grigore specialises in managing complex mandates, covering a diverse range of international and intragroup projects in technology, privacy and data protection, as well as in related areas of cybersecurity. Throughout her career, she has managed interdisciplinary mandates and has been involved in projects on compliance with the requirements of GDPR legislation, e-commerce rules, online marketing, profiling algorithms, data sharing and transfer within and extra group, cloud, development and implementation of innovative technologies and assistance in projects involving sensitive data processing.

Laura is also specialised in strategic consultancy mandates on environmental law and regulatory compliance, including IPPC authorizations, EIA, environmental assessments, compliance with REACH rules, management of hazardous substances, biocides, waste management on specific streams, authorization of schemes to implement producer’s extended liability, water protection and water resources management, environmental remediation, specific obligations to the Environment Fund, control procedures and environmental litigation.

The expansion of the CMS Romania team –  which hired over 10 members in recent months – is part of the firm’s development strategy to maintain the strong growth of our technology, data protection and cybersecurity activity, as well as our work in environmental law and related risk management. Laura has significant experience in niche and strategic business areas, and her extensive expertise in large-scale international projects, combined with a deep knowledge of the TMT sector, will benefit our clients.
