National chairman of the National Liberal Party (PNL) Florin Citu said on Friday that there are ‘only negotiations’ with the People’s Movement Party (PMP) on a possible merger.
“There are only negotiations. No conclusions are drawn,” Citu said at the Parliament House when asked what the stake would be of a merger with PMP.
Given that PMP national leader Cristian Diaconescu denied the information that PMP would merge by absorption with PNL, Citu said: “Perfect. Then, that’s it,” Agerpres reports.
The Executive Bureau (BEx) of PNL decided on Friday to start talks with PMP on a merger by absorption, according to PNL sources. The Liberals also set up a negotiating team for the talks.
