Constantin Mareș, in charge of the organizational transformation of OTP Bank Romania, will lead the new Digital Division

Constantin Mareș, Executive Director IT, PMO & Transformation Office OTP Bank Romania, has been appointed Deputy General Manager and will coordinate the new Digital Division, established following the bank’s local development strategy.

The Digital Division has the responsibility to bring the digital environment and banking solutions of OTP Bank Romania closer to the customer, depending on individual needs, through fast and efficient operational processes, simple and secure digital solutions and personalized consulting.

“Establishing the Digital Division is a natural consequence of OTP Bank’s vision to develop through digitalization and innovation. It is also a recognition of the significant contribution that the colleagues on these teams have in the bank’s cultural and digital transformation.

His management objectives for the Digital Division include stimulating performance, nurturing the innovative environment in the bank, while creating an optimal working environment for professional development and positioning OTP Bank Romania in the elite of the most desired employers in Romania.

Constantin Mareş has 25 years of experience in the banking system, and in the last 20 years he has held top and senior management positions. Since 2015, he has been the promoter of cultural change at OTP Bank Romania, a change that has included both the digital transformation and the transformation of the way of working into an agile, collaborative and modern one. He is directly responsible for the success of OTP Bank Romania’s Apollo organic growth program, which focuses on improving the customer experience, process efficiency, and developing key portfolio products.

He began his career at Bancorex, in the Capital Markets department. He then moved to ING, for 9 years, where he lead the IT department and participated in the launch of retail services based exclusively on technology. In 2006 he joined the team that prepared the launch of Millennium Bank in Romania. Six years after his arrival at Millennium Bank, he was promoted to the bank’s management, first coordinating the operational area and then as head of the ​​corporate clients area.
