The strategy adopted this year by Bonami, the online store with furniture and decorations, for Black Friday, has borne fruit.
“We initially forecast sales worth 10 million euros, but the final result was better, reaching 12.5 million euros, of which 10% made on the Romanian market,” said Pavel Vopařil, CEO of Bonami.
The company opted for special discounts on its product ranges throughout November, adding additional discounts on Black Friday weekends, both for the Romanian and for the international one.
The weekend of November 25-29 was the best, with sales reaching 4 million euros, of which 400,000 on the Romanian market. The peak moment of shopping was traditionally reached on Sunday evening, when the traffic on the site increased by 150% compared to a normal day.
,,This year, the largest local order had a value of 3500 euros. Given the prolonged uncertainty generated by Covid, it is normal for people to be more cautious in their purchases. On the other hand, the total figures show an increase compared to last year in the same period, which means that we have smaller orders, but more customers, which is very important during this period, ”commented Vopařil.
In terms of how the orders were placed, this year most came from the mobile phone, on all markets where the online store is present. This is a change from last year, when most were made from the desktop. A novelty for the Romanian market is the type of payment used. If last year the orders paid with cash on delivery prevailed, this year almost 50% were paid by card.
The category with the best results was the furniture, especially the sitting one. “We managed to sell a total of 900 sofas, of which 65 in Romania. It is an excellent figure that proves that we are recognized and appreciated for our expertise in this segment ” Vopařil underlined. Other categories with very good sales on the Romanian market were textiles, but also mirrors, an item that recently entered the preferences of Romanian customers.
In total, during the promotional period, 330,000 products were sold, 39,000 on the Romanian market, of which 100,000, respectively 12,000, on Black Friday weekend only.
Bonami is currently running the Christmas Cashback campaign. Any amount spent between 1.10-20.12.2021, will be returned to the Bonami account in the form of credits that can be used as a discount of up to 20% of the total value of orders placed, between 24.12-31.12. As a novelty, any products ordered between 1.10.2021-24.12.2021 can be returned free of charge until 15.01.2022.
