Sustainability is an integral part of the strategy developed by Herbalife Nutrition, and recycling and environmental protection are key to achieving this goal. The company is currently involved in over 50 active and significant environmental sustainability projects all over the world.
Herbalife Nutrition Romania has set to educate the younger generation in matters related to environmental protection and waste recycling, by organizing a workshop for 12 children from ,,Ana și Copiii” Association. The kids received information about environmental protection and selective collection of the most common waste, and, together with Luminița Voica, a craftswoman, they gave a new life to the plastic containers of Herbalife Nutrition products, turning them into pots where they seeded the traditional St. Andrew’s wheat.
„It is very important to tell the children they can live in a cleaner world, to show how easily this can be achieved and to make the environment we live in a better place. The contribution of each and every one of us matters. For Herbalife Nutrition, sustainability is an essential part of the life improvement process”, declared Romeo Căzănescu, Country Director Herbalife Nutrition Romania, Moldova, Hungary and Bulgaria.
,,We believe education is at the basis of environmental protection! At the end of the day, it is about what each of us chooses to do, every day. The sooner environmental education starts (with appropriate waste collection, reduction of resource waste, etc.) the better! Nobody is too young or old to make a change to help us all in the long run. From preschool children, to students and adults, we all have many things to learn about environmental protection, especially within the current context!” declares Mihaela Voivozeanu, President of ,,Ana și Copiii” Association.
This year as well, Herbalife Nutrition Romania has been involved in volunteering activities, as it has done over the past 10 years. The mission of Herbalife Nutrition Foundation and “Ana si Copiii” Association is to improve the quality of life for children and their families, by offering a healthy nutrition and access to specialized nutrition education. As part of the ,,Children’s Pantry” project, Herbalife Nutrition prepared baskets with fruits and vegetables for children and their families.
The ,,Children’s Pantry” project is aimed to provide food to meet the daily requirements of the 242 children who come every day to the Social and Educational Support Centers of “Ana si Copiii” in Bucharest (district 1), Prahova (Urlati) and Calarasi (Fundulea), as well as of the approx. 600 children that the Association supports directly in their communities.
