Health Ministry: New case of Omicron strain confirmed in Romania

A new case of infection with the Omicron strain of the SARS-CoV-2 virus has been confirmed in Romania. The person in question is a 56-year-old man from Brasov, the Ministry of Health informs on Thursday.

According to the same source, the man is a member of the family of the passenger of the flight from South Africa that landed in Bucharest on November 30, confirmed with the Omicron strain on December 4.

The man is isolated at home and his health is good. He is vaccinated with the complete vaccination scheme, says the Ministry of Health.

So far, three cases of infection with the Omicron variant of the SARS-Cov-2 virus have been confirmed in Romania.
