Aquila earned a record net profit of Ron 43.8 million in first 9 months of 2021, increasing by 21% year-on-year

Aquila, the largest distribution company, recorded a net profit of RON 43.8 million on September 30, 2021, an increase of 21% compared to the same period in 2020. The announced net profit is the highest since the company was established.

Revenues also increased by 19%, reaching RON 1,376 million during the reporting period, mainly due to:

– organic growth of the distribution area;

– the acquisition of Trigor AVD, one of the first players on the consumer goods distribution market in the Republic of Moldova;

The positive evolution of sales through the convenience channel (gas stations and convenience stores) translated into a rise in sales by 25%, in the context of increasing mobility in 2021 compared to 2020 when there were more anti-Covid-19 restrictions.

Revenues have been on an upward trend towards the end of the year, following the business strategy due to increased demand for consumer goods during the holiday season. In the first nine months of this year, revenues were higher than in the same period in 2020, which was affected by a decline during the COVID-19 pandemic and the state of emergency.

“The results confirm our strategy of rapid growth through acquisitions and organic development. In this uncertain economic environment, our strengths, leadership, and agility, which allow us to adapt quickly, have become decisive factors that have allowed us to obtain a historical net profit, at 9 months of 43.8 million RON. We will continue the strategy of expanding our business and consolidating the distribution, logistics, and transportation markets to accomplish Aquila’s vision of having at least one product distributed in every home. The success of the listing on the Bucharest Stock Exchange and the confidence shown by investors will help us to achieve the assumed objectives,” said Catalin Vasile, CEO of Aquila.
