Government approves increase in state allowance for children and pension point

The Government has approved, on Wednesday, two ordinances that implement a large part of the social package promised in the Governing Programme, with a third ordinance in the interministerial approval process, Minister of Labor Marius Budai announced.

“The first ordinance regards the state allowance for children and the institution of the 13th indemnity for persons with disabilities. It’s a joint ordinance, Ministry of Labor [and Social Protection] – Ministry of [Youth,] Family, [and Equal Chances], so that, starting with January 1, 2022, the state allowance for children will be increased for those with ages between 0-2 years old, but also 2-18 years old children with disabilities, the allowance is increased to 600 RON, while for children aged between 2-18, the allowance is increased to the value of 243 RON and, of course, the last measure of this ordinance, the institution of the 13th indemnity for persons with disabilities,” mentioned Marius Budai, according to Agerpres.

The Minister of Labor added that another “extremely important” ordinance is the ordinance regarding the public system for pensions, by which the minimum pension is increased by 25 pct, from 800 RON it will reach the value of 1,000 RON, and the value of the pension point is increased from 1,442 to 1,586 RON, “namely that 10 percent negotiated upon the formation of the political coalition that supports this Government.”
