JLL secures € 20.6 million financing for Mega Company from Alpha Bank Romania

JLL announces that it has successfully secured a € 20.6 million facility for Mega Distribution Center, a 45,000 sqm logistic park strategically located within Bucharest’s most dynamic market.

JLL worked on behalf of the sponsor, Mega Company, to arrange the financing extended by Alpha Bank Romania. This two steps funding structure will support the company in its current and future customer centric growth plans.

The Mega Company, founded in 1983, is a Washington, DC-based, international real estate organization that specializes in the development and operation of industrial and commercial spaces with over 25 years of experience on the Romanian market. The Mega Company is an integrated investor, developer and operator that operates a portfolio of four different logistic parks located in core logistic locations, balancing all types of storage.  This notable financing is another step on their growth path and their mission to better serve their clients’ needs and to achieve a sustainable long-term development.

Mega Company was assisted by PeliPartners on all legal matters related to the financing transaction. The legal team was led by Carmen Peli (Partner) and included Delia Lepădatu (Associate) and Delia Catrina (Associate) on financing and transactional matters, as well as Mădălina Fildan (Senior Associate) and Antonia Nica (Associate) on real estate matters.

“As a veteran U.S. investor in Romania of more than 30 years, The Mega Company has earned recognition for undertaking large, complex projects, fostering innovation, embracing advance technologies, and making a difference for their clients, employees, and community. Our team is proud to bring its technical knowledge, experience and resourcefulness to the delivery of our comprehensive construction services. Driven by a commitment to excellence, we strive to embrace lean construction methods to improve efficiency and enhance client value.  We are pleased to have steadfast collaboration with dynamic teams at JLL Capital Markets and Alpha Bank”, Mega Company commented on the transaction.

JLL Capital Markets provides capital solutions for real estate investors and occupiers. Since 2019, JLL Capital Markets advised investment, M&A and debt transactions in total value of over 670 million euro in Romania.

“As one of our core client relationships, we are very pleased to have completed our second financing on behalf of Mega Company. The strong asset fundamental as well as the solid track record of the sponsor drove significant demand for the property ultimately reaching a very successful outcome for all parties involved. The structuring will allow Mega Group to continue its expansion plan while benefiting of competitive financing terms”, declared Maxime Otto, Capital Markets at JLL.

„We are delighted to have had the opportunity to contribute to this transaction for our client. The financing will allow Mega Company not only to refinance its existing loans, but also to continue its expansion on the logistic parks market” said Carmen Peli (photo), Partner and Head of Finance & Banking at PeliPartners.
