Vodafone endows with IT equipment 141 foster and family-type homes in Bucharest and 23 counties

More than 1500 children will benefit from laptops, tablets and mobile Internet

Vodafone Romania will endow with equipment (tablets and laptops) and mobile Internet services 141 foster and family-type homes from Bucharest and 23 counties: Alba, Arad, Bacău, Bihor, Bistrița-Năsăud, Botoșani, Brașov, Buzău, Cluj, Covasna, Dâmbovița, Ialomița, Iași, Ilfov, Maramureș, Mureș, Neamț, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Suceava, Timiș, Vaslui. Thus, in December, one euro for each transaction (new subscription and subscription renewal) made by Vodafone customers of mobile, internet and television services is redirected for the purchase of digital equipment for children in foster and family-type homes.

“At Christmas, the gifts are, perhaps, more awaited than ever, and the gesture of giving is more natural than ever. For us, at Vodafone, technology and communications are essential, so we want together with our customers to bring the magic of Christmas among children in foster homes by giving them access to the entire universe that opens from a tablet or a laptop screen. This way, we give them the joy of learning, playing, communicating and improving their digital skills. At Vodafone, we believe in equal opportunities for a digital future for all, and it is part of our mission to facilitate access to technology for those who need it most. We thank all the customers who contribute through the Vodafone services they use to create the magic of Christmas for institutionalized children”, said Nedim Baytorun, Consumer Business Unit Director, Vodafone Romania.

The foster and family-type homes involved in this project serve a number of 1500 children and youngsters aged between 7 and 26 years old. The project was initiated and sponsored by Vodafone and is implemented with the support of the Vodafone Romania Foundation, Hope and Homes for Children Romania Foundation and SOS Satele Copiilor Romania Association.

Magic Christmas for Vodafone customers

The social responsibility campaign that Vodafone is running is possible with the contribution of the existing Vodafone customers, but also of the new ones, for which the company has prepared a dedicated Christmas offer. Prepaid users who port their number in Vodafone network and choose one of the RED Infinity 22 or RED 15 tariff plans receive a 50 euro voucher for the purchase of a smartphone on www.vodafone.ro, and unlimited internet for three months for  RED 9 and RED 12 subscriptions.

Last but not least, all mobile services subscribers will receive a gift voucher worth 50 euro for the purchase of a smartphone on www.vodafone.ro, available until the end of the year. Also, customers who purchase Offer 6 with a new number will receive the card for 5 euro, along with a voucher worth 50 euro  they can use on www.vodafone.ro to purchase a smartphone, without subscription. Existing prepaid customers who opt for any offer starting with Offer 6 can also enjoy the same voucher.
