Filip & Company assists Țiriac Group in the sale of their financial leasing to Banca Transilvania

Filip & Company assists Țiriac Group in the sale of Tiriac Leasing to Banca Transilvania. The transaction signed on Friday, 14 January, is still subject to certain terms and conditions as well to a clearance from the Romanian Competition Council.

“Transactions keep happening in such good times for the Romanian M&A market. However, it’s worth looking at the stories that differentiate and individualise them. We have here the meeting of two remarkable Romanian business groups that made history by their specific contribution to the creation and development of the local leasing market over the last 20 years and more. Our team had the great pleasure and honour of assisting Tiriac Group on this transaction and our excellent experience was completed by the constructive dialogue with the BT Group team and their consultants”, said Cristina Filip, managing partner at Filip & Company.

The Filip & Company team coordinated by Cristina Filip included Andrei Konya, Georgeta Gavriloiu, George Trantea, Andreea Călin, Lavinia Cazacu, Larisa Jurca, Bianca Chera, Andreea Dinu and Rareș Crîșmaru.

BT Group was assisted on this project by PwC and D&B David şi Baias.

The lawyers at Filip & Company have had important roles in many of the key M&A transactions in Romania. Whether they were privatisations, private equity, venture capital or growth capital transactions or other complex M&A, in most of the cases, at least one of the parties was legally assisted by Filip & Company. Furthermore, the lawyers at Filip & Company are ranked first in the most prestigious international legal directories – Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 – with their M&A practice, both as a team as well as individually.
