Day of the Unification of the Romanian Principalities: Speakers of the two Chambers emphasize need of unity and stability

PNL’s Citu considers liberalism, only solution to continue what forefathers started

Chairman of the National Liberal Party (PNL), Florin Citu, the President of the Senate, states, in a message conveyed on the Day of the Unification of the Romanian Principalities, that “liberalism is the only solution to develop Romania, to continue what our forerunners started”.

“January 24th represents more than the Unification of the Romanian Principalities. The election of Alexandru Ioan Cuza as ruler of both principalities is clear proof that we need unity to write history. Dear Romanians, my message to you is simple: liberalism is the only solution to develop Romania, to continue what our forefathers started. Many Happy Returns!,” Citu wrote on Facebook on Monday.

Ciolacu: 163 years after Unification of Principalities, Romanians need more than ever unity, stability

Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (PSD) Marcel Ciolacu, the Speakar of Chamber of Deputies,  conveyed a message on the Day of the Unification of the Romanian Principalities stating that Romanians need unity and stability and that “disunion will not save us from economic, health and security challenges”.

“163 years after the Unification of the Principalities, Romanians need more than ever #unity and #stability! Romanians need #deeds and correct decisions to prove that we are with them! Disunion will not save us in these difficult times, disunion will not save us from the economic, health and security challenges, but precisely the ideals that animated the unionists of 1859 and that still animate the Romanians! Many Happy Returns, dear Romanians!,” Marcel Ciolacu wrote on Monday, on Facebook.
