The most spectacular charity mountain running event in Romania, DHL Carpathian Marathon powered by MPG returns in full force on June 18

  • DHL Carpathian Marathon powered by MPG will take place on June 18th 2022, at Cheile Gradistei Fundata
  • Registrations are open on www.maratondhl.ro, with a special early bird participation fee of 110 lei, until the 10th of March
  • The event supports, for the sixth consecutive edition, the National Paralympic Committee.

DHL Carpathian Marathon powered by MPG is back in full force and invites all runners to recharge their batteries and to support, once again, the unique cause of the Romanian Paralympic athletes. A running event with a tradition in Romania and among the first mountain marathons organized in our country, DHL Carpathian Marathon announces the start of registration for the 11th edition, which will take place on June 18, 2022, at the same spectacular location, the Race Village from Cheile Grădiștei Fundata. The invitation to participate is addressed to all running enthusiasts, professionals or amateurs, but also to children eager to enjoy the fun and motivating atmosphere of a competition.

Under the slogan Together has no limits, the marathon returns after an unwanted break imposed by the pandemic. The impact of this event is all the greater as the joy of running on the spectacular mountain trails will be matched by the satisfaction of fighting for the dreams of the Paralympic athletes, eager to achieve performance. After several SOLD OUT editions and a successful anniversary edition in 2019, DHL Carpathian continues the tradition and supports in 2022 the National Paralympic Committee, to which the money raised from participation fees will be directed.

“It’s such an exciting moment for us to be able to say START again to a remarkable and long-awaited event, the DHL Carpathian Marathon. We are happy to be able to organize together with our partners the 11th edition of this competition and to bring together thousands of so diverse runners, united by the love for sports and nature, but also by the desire to overcome barriers. We to stand by the Romanian Paralympic athletes, whom we support one more time, because they fully deserve to benefit from optimal training conditions, in order to achieve performance in the sports they practice. On June 18, we will prove that together has no by bringing joy to the most ambitious of the champions, the Paralympians“, said Agnieszka Blaś, Managing Director of DHL Romania.

For us, the support we receive from a major event as DHL Carpathian Marathon powered by MPG makes a difference, and the continuation of our partnership is a news that impresses us and makes us happier than I can say. Few people are aware of how much work and sacrifice is behind the results of Paralympic athletes and their need for financial support to be able to train and perform at the highest level. At the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, we came home with two medals, one silver and one bronze, and this year we have two qualified athletes at the Beijing Paralympic Winter Games, where we will represent Romania in two disciplines, alpine skiing and snowboarding. My joy is indescribable every time our athletes and their performance are appreciated at fair value”, said Sally Wood-Lamont, chair of the National Paralympic Committee.
