The Air Force Chiefs of Romania, Italy and Germany had, on Thursday, an informal meeting at the 57th Mihail Kogalniceanu Military Air Base (southeastern Romania).

The Chief of Staff of the Air Force, Major General Viorel Pana, the Chief of the Italian Air Force, Lieutenant General Luca Goretti and the Chief of the German Air Force, Lieutenant General Ingo Gerhartz, paid tribute to the eight soldiers who lost their lives in the two plane crashes that took place on Wednesday evening in Constanta County.

A moment of silence was also held in memory of the fallen Romanian Air Force soldiers.

The officials also discussed with the soldiers of the three countries about the missions they carry out together in Romania, in the current security context, say the representatives of the Romanian Air Force in a post on Facebook.

During the official meeting, the three Air Force chiefs addressed issues related to the conduct of the Enhanced Air Policing mission, the missions to be carried out by the German detachment in cooperation with the Italian one deployed in Romania, as well as other topics of common interest.
