Dr. Leahu and Figo.Mobility Dental Clinics Network Launches First Free Medical Transportation Service

Network Dr. Leahu Dental Clinics and Figo Mobility have entered into a partnership that provides free transportation to people with disabilities to dentists within the network’s clinics in Bucharest.

Thus, people from vulnerable categories shall have quick and comfortable access to scheduled or emergency dental treatments, with the help of vehicles from the Figo.Mobility program, specially adapted to their needs.

“It is enough for these patients to contact the call center of any clinic in Bucharest and mention that they need this type of help, and our colleagues shall immediately schedule free transportation from their home to the clinic for consultation or treatment, and back. All our clinics are equipped with ramps or mobile chairs, so as to facilitate the access of people with disabilities to the dentist; therefore, this partnership was a natural step towards supporting social inclusion and ensuring the access of all Romanians to real health.”, said Ionuț Leahu, founder and CEO of Dr. Leahu Dental Clinics.

About 70,000 people are registered in Bucharest with a certificate of disability. Most of them face dental problems, but also difficulties in moving safely and comfortably to the dentist.

“I am a patient of Dr. Leahu Dental Clinics and I have noticed several times how the people in the cart were transported here on the stairs with the help of a robot; for me it was the first signal to open doctors to this vulnerable category and I wanted to expand, through this collaboration, the services of access to dental treatments”, completes Ion Zyto Dumitrescu, founder of Figo.Mobility.

Figo Mobility is the first public transport service adapted to people with disabilities (reduced mobility, visual or intellectual disabilities) in Romania, authorized by the Romanian Road Authority. For now, it provides transport for people with disabilities in the counties of Bucharest and Ilfov, but the company aims to reach, by the end of the year, the main cities in Romania, namely Cluj-Napoca, Sibiu, Timisoara, Oradea and Iasi, to ensure access to from vulnerable categories and to other clinics in the network.

The Dr. Leahu Dental Clinics Network is the most extensive network in the Romanian dental industry, with a presence in 13 cities in Romania and the first entity in the healthcare industry with corporate bonds traded on the multilateral system of the Bucharest Stock Exchange.

Figo.Mobility is a Medeva Fintech product – a 100% Romanian initiative, aimed at providing services and facilities for people from vulnerable categories, by developing and implementing specific tools and solutions for each partner.
