Filip & Company assists BCR in the sale of the operational leasing to Arval România

Law firm Filip & Company assisted BCR in the transfer of part of BCR Fleet Management’s operational leasing business to the Arval group. The transaction, signed at the end of May, is still subject to a clearance from the competition authority.

We have witnessed an effervescent half-year in the Romanian M&A market and we expect activity to continue at a rapid pace in the coming period. In the life of a company there are good times to sell or to consolidate. BCR has always shown the ability to continuously optimise its business model and we are glad to have had the opportunity to work as a team again on this important project. It was a great experience as always”, said Monica Stătescu, partner at Filip & Company.

The Filip & Company team coordinated by Monica Stătescu and Alina Stancu Bîrsan (partner), included Simona Ungureanu (associate) and Monica Popa (associate). Smaranda Văcaru (senior associate) provided legal assistance on financial law matters, and Cătălin Suliman (partner) and Silviu Vasile (counsel) assisted on competition law matters.

The lawyers at Filip & Company have had important roles in many of the key M&A transactions in Romania. Whether they were privatisations, private equity, venture capital or growth capital transactions or other complex M&A, in very many cases at least one of the parties was legally assisted by Filip & Company. Furthermore, the lawyers at Filip & Company are ranked first in the most prestigious international legal directories – Chambers and Partners and Legal 500 – with their M&A practice, both as a team as well as individually.
