The National Agency for Fiscal Administration obtained revenues of 246.2 billion RON in the first 8 months, an increase of 22.4% nominal index compared to the same period of the previous year, announced on Friday the president of the ANAF, Lucian Ovidiu Heius, during a press conference.

“ANAF’s activity in the first 8 months of the year led to the collection of budget revenues worth 246.2 billion RON, respectively an increase of 22.4% nominal index, respectively 12.5% real index compared to the same period of the previous year, respectively August 2021. And if we refer to the 8 months we have collected an additional 45 billion RON compared to the 8 months of 2021 when 201.2 billion RON were collected. The achievement rate was 106.6% compared to the budgetary laws, which led to a budget amendment that was achieved by Ordinance 19, which I think is positive for the entire activity at the level of the Romanian Government,” Lucian Ovidiu Heius said, according to Agerpres.

He added that in the first 8 months of the year, VAT refunds continued at an accelerated pace, reaching 18.1 billion RON, compared to 16.5 billion RON reimbursed in the first 8 months of 2021.

According to the data presented in the conference, in August, net budget revenues were collected in the amount of 29.1 billion RON, more by 5 billion RON compared to August 2021.

Heius recalled that, as of 1 March, non-payment of contributions and withholding taxes is already a crime. In collaboration with the General Inspectorate of the Romanian Police, the file for further investigations in the case of a number of 52,976 active taxpayers who had registered as total obligations the amount of 373 million RON was submitted on Wednesday.
